What is Quartz (Engineered) Stones?
What is Granite?
Granite rocks are formed by slowly cooling pockets of magma that were trapped beneath the earth’s surface. Granite is the hardest of all buildin g stones with a very close grain, making it almost impervious to stain. These characteristics makes it ideal for a variety of applications.
Is my granite countertop scratch resistant? Will it chip or crack?
Granite is a durable work surface and the only thing that can scratch granite are carbide, diamonds or another piece of granite. With normal daily use, you will not ruin the finish of your countertop (even directly cutting upon it). Unlike other surfaces, it will not lose its shine. Most flaws usually occur during the fabrication process, it will not break under normal kitchen/bathroom conditions.
How do I care for my granite countertop?
Granite is very low maintenance. Cleaning with mild soap and water is all that is generally required. You may want to apply a penetrating sealer once a year but not necessary.
What is the difference between granite and marble?
Granite an igneous rock and is the one of the hardest materials on earth. Used as a countertop material, it is resistant to scratches, acids, stains and heat. It is long-lasting, durable and available in a wide variety of colors, textures and unique crystal patterns that create a warm and inviting environment for you kitchen or bath. Marble, on the other hand, is a metamorphic rock composed of recrystallized carbonate minerals, most commonly calcite or dolomite. Marble may be foliated.
